About The Award
Honouring Thoughtful Design. Inspiring Future Legacies.
Instituted in memory of Shri Prabir Mitra — a quiet visionary whose integrity, intellect, and deep-rooted values shaped generations — this annual award is aimed at celebrating the Most Promising Architect whose work reflects excellence in design, responsibility in practice, and a meaningful contribution to the built environment.
The award will be conferred every year during the B.V. Doshi Memorial Exhibition, following a rigorous jury-led selection process. The jury comprises four distinguished architects — Partha Ranjan Das, Subir Kumar Basu, Abin Chaudhury, and Vivek Singh Rathore — each of whom has made a lasting impact through their design thinking and architectural practice.
More than a recognition, this award carries forward the spirit of Shri Mitra’s legacy — one that believed architecture must be both humane and enduring.
